RFR announced a 12,602 s/f lease with App Academy at 90 Fifth Avenue, a 140,000 s/f office building located a minute’s walk from New York’s Union Square Park.

The San Francisco-based education technology company, relocating from 22 West 38th Street, took the entire second floor of the office property, which RFR has repositioned to thrive in the corridor popular among tech, media and publishing firms.

Founded in 2012 by Kush Patel, App Academy is considered a top coding school for some of the most prestigious tech companies in the world, including Google, Boxed, PayPal, Facebook and Pinterest.

RFR’s AJ Camhi and Ryan Silverman represented the ownership in-house. “The floor was previously occupied by an education technology company, and the existing layout suited the real estate requirements of App Academy perfectly,” Mr. Camhi said. “App Academy will have a dedicated ground floor entrance on 14th Street with direct access to its second-floor space via elevator and stairs.”
