K2 Integrity Appoints Jason Straight as Senior Managing Director for Cyber Resilience and Digital Risk Advisory Practice

Mr. Straight draws on over 20 years’ experience in guiding complex cyber risk assessments and incident responses, instituting privacy safeguards, and conducting digital investigations

K2 Integrity announced today that it has appointed Jason Straight as Senior Managing Director and leader of its Cyber Resilience and Digital Risk Advisory practice, where he will lead all client engagements relating to cybersecurity, privacy, data risk management, electronic investigations, advanced threat detection, AI safety, and digital forensic incident response.

Prior to joining K2 Integrity, Mr. Straight served as Chief Privacy Officer and Senior Vice President at UnitedLex Corporation, where he built and managed the company’s cybersecurity and privacy advisory practices as well as its global privacy program. Following the acquisition of UnitedLex’s cybersecurity practice by Ankura Consulting Group, Mr. Straight also served as Chief Privacy Officer and a Senior Managing Director overseeing Ankura’s managed security services and incident response practices.

Mr. Straight has also served multiple senior roles at Kroll and Kroll Ontrack, where he managed client engagements and a team of experts focused on cybersecurity incident response and investigations, digital forensics, and electronic discovery.

“Businesses recognize that cybersecurity preparedness, the stewardship of sensitive information, and proper digital risk management are indispensable to their growth and success. Conversely, inadequate preparation and data breaches can trigger significant legal, reputational, and financial damage if not addressed appropriately,” said Robert Brenner, Global Co-Managing Partner and Global Head of Investigations and Disputes at K2 Integrity. “Jason’s expertise will not only bolster our cybersecurity programs but also enhance our investigative capacity in non-cyber fraud situations, bringing added value to our clients globally. His leadership will be instrumental in advancing our mission to help organizations navigate complex risk and safeguard their operations.”

A lawyer by training currently admitted to practice in New York, Mr. Straight brings practical, hands-on experience to his client work as well as a nuanced understanding of technical digital challenges, regulatory insights, and best practices related to privacy and cybersecurity. He is a frequent speaker, author, and media resource often asked to offer his insights on these topics and on emerging risks to security and privacy.

“Having helped companies build their cybersecurity and privacy defenses and guide their responses to potentially existential breaches, the one constant I’ve identified is that companies can never be complacent or satisfied with their planning,” remarked Mr. Straight. “K2 Integrity is dedicated to working side by side with clients to address these issues and I’m excited to continue to grow the firm’s industry-leading services focused on protecting companies’ digital operations.”

Mr. Straight is an active member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional. He holds a J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School and a B.A. from Macalester College.
